An expert in the New York State legislative and regulatory environment, Henry is well-positioned to help your business grow.
For almost three decades, Henry has worked with or lobbied all three branches of New York State government. As Counsel to the New York State Assembly Republican Conference, Henry was responsible for analyzing every piece of banking legislation that was considered by the Assembly. Following his work at the Assembly, Henry joined the New York Credit Union Association where he rose to become the General Counsel and Senior Vice President. He lobbied on a wide range of key issues that continue to impact credit unions, such as marijuana legalization, mortgage lending, and cybersecurity protections. In addition to his work on the state level, Henry has extensively lobbied the New York State Congressional delegation and NCUA’s Eastern Region.
He has helped credit unions work with the Department of Financial Services and has represented credit unions facing examiner inquiries. He has advocated for changes to both state and federal regulations, such as the need for changes to New York’s foreclosure process and the need to properly draft New York’s first-in-the-nation cybersecurity regulations so that they strike the right balance between data protection and avoiding excessive mandates.
